How Tanner & Hall collects, uses and protects personal information when you contact us or use this website.
Who we are
This website is operated by Tanner & Hall, Station Road, Harston, Cambridge CB22 7QP (“we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about privacy by emailing sales@tannerandhall.co.uk, calling 01223 483620 or writing to us at the address above.
Information we collect
When you complete our enquiry form, email or call us, we collect the information you provide, which may include:
- your name, email address and phone number;
- your organisation, where relevant;
- the service you are interested in and details of your property, roof or project, including the property address;
- any photographs or documents you choose to send us.
Please do not include sensitive personal information (for example, health information) in your enquiry.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange surveys, quotations and site visits.
- To provide and manage the roofing, maintenance, survey or solar services you request.
- To keep records of our work and correspondence, and to meet our legal, insurance and health and safety obligations.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for marketing unless you have asked us to.
Our lawful basis
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, we rely on:
- Consent, when you submit our enquiry form and tick the consent box. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us;
- Contract, where we need the information to provide a quotation or carry out work you have asked for;
- Legitimate interests, to keep business records and respond to correspondence;
- Legal obligation, where we must keep records, for example for tax or health and safety purposes.
Who we share it with
We only share your information where necessary, with trusted service providers who help us run our business (such as our email, website form and IT providers), with professional advisers and insurers, or where required by law. Where providers process data on our behalf, they do so under contract and only on our instructions. If any provider stores data outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for up to 2 years afterwards if no work goes ahead. Where we carry out work for you, we keep project records for up to 7 years after completion, or longer where required for warranty, insurance or legal reasons.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To make a request, contact us using the details above. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
